Rural Health Access |
Rural hospitals are closing nationwide, leaving patients in deserts of care, driving hours for routine or specialist doctor visits and needing expensive medevac flights for emergencies. The situation in North Carolina is particularly troubling, as this article from The Guardian illustrates. More positively, the University of Arizona received a grant to train nurse practitioners to provide mental health care in underserved rural areas around the state. |

Home Health Pre-Claim Review |
CMS released a memo this week detailing plans to renew the controversial home health pre-claim review demonstration in five states.
