Industry Groups Split Over Interoperability

Humana and Hospice
The insurance giant Humana is looking to purchase two hospice programs, Kindred Healthcare and Curo Health Services. Both hospice chains are facing accusations and fines from the government for mishandling data and funds, making the move controversial. However, the move would allow Humana, one of the nation’s largest providers of Medicare Advantage plans, to manage care for members through end-of-life care.
