SPARTANBURG, S.C. (June 9, 2017)—QS/1 is excited to announce it has added another certification through Elavon to process transactions for Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) compliant cards.
“QS/1 continues to give our pharmacy customers as many options as possible to accept this new credit card standard,” said Sonny Anderson, QS/1’s vice president of Systems and Technology. “Being certified by Elavon allows QS/1 to process EMV payments through its system.”
QS/1 offered the independent and small-chain pharmacy industry one of the first integrated point-of-sale solutions with EMV security standards. This additional certification allows QS/1 customers using QS/1-verified hardware and Elavon to process credit and debit cards securely. The ability to securely process these transactions minimizes the financial risk to pharmacies.
“This helps protect merchants from the financial liability shift, which holds those not using the properly certified equipment and process accountable for fraudulent transactions,” Anderson added.
