WATERLOO, IOWA (January 14, 2016)—VGM Insurance Services celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2015 by donating a total of $27,000 throughout the year to charities nationwide.

The Quarter Century of Caring Campaign, completed in December 2015, was a way of thanking providers for the good they do for their communities.

VGM Insurance asked its customers, members, partners and affiliated insurance agents to nominate their favorite charity to win $1,000. The most compelling nominations were selected and presented with a $1,000 check to donate to their charity of choice.

“We had a fantastic response to the campaign,” commented Mike Kloos, president of VGM Insurance. “We received an overwhelming number of charity nominations, and it was amazing to learn about all the community service projects our customers and partners are involved in all across the country. We are honored to have had the opportunity to help make a difference.”

Some of the winning charity projects included wheelchair accessible playgrounds, baseball programs, camps and therapeutic riding programs for children with special needs; non-profit hospice services; domestic violence education and support; and special events for children with rare and life-threatening diseases.

“The number of lives that were impacted across the nation as a result of the campaign was incredible,” commented Bill Wilson, vice president of sales and marketing for VGM Insurance. “Many of the selected charity winners rely solely on individual donations to continue their work, so the knowledge that the Quarter Century of Caring Campaign has helped these charities continue benefiting others for months and years to come is wonderful.”
