CARY, NC (January 21, 2016)—The Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) announced today that it will host its inaugural charity golf tournament at one of North Carolina’s top-rated golf courses, Brier Creek Country Club, on May 16, 2016. The tournament will offer a fun and challenging environment for players of all skill levers to support two local charity organizations: the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle.

“We appreciate the opportunity to work with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Big Brothers Big Sisters to support those in our community that need it the most,” said José Domingos, ACHC CEO. “This is a cause that all of us at ACHC strongly support, and we hope the donations raised through the tournament will make a difference in the lives of those around us. We are grateful for the volunteers, corporate sponsors, and players who have come together to support our local community.”

The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is an innovative hunger-relief organization serving seven counties in and around the Raleigh-Durham area. From BackPack Buddies to nutrition education, mobile markets to community gardens, culinary job training to urban agriculture training, the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle goes directly to people in need and creates ways to empower them. Its efforts feed, teach, and grow to create a hunger-free and healthy community

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”) ages 6 through 14. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
