UPDATE (August 31, 2016)—Due to safety concerns stemming from the Tropical Strom Warning for the Sarasota area, Harmar has cancelled the event for September 1. Stay tuned for additional information on the partnership with Wheelchairs 4 Kids.

SARASOTA, Fla. (August 25, 2016)—On September 1, Harmar, a manufacturer of wheelchair lifts and stair lifts, will kick off their partnership with Wheelchairs 4 Kids by donating a wheelchair lift to 13-year-old Gregory and his family. Gregory has muscular dystrophy and uses a power chair. His family currently has no way to transport the chair. The lift will have a huge impact on his quality of life with far more independence and the ability to socialize with friends. 101 Mobility of Sarasota will install the lift during the celebration.

Harmar has chosen Wheelchairs 4 Kids as their charity of choice and have signed a partnership agreement that will greatly reduce the cost of the lifts and will encourage their dealers to donate installations. They have also committed to sponsoring events and being a major supporter of the organization in numerous ways including cause-marketing campaigns.

“We have been searching and hoping to find a solution to the problems that so many of our families face when it comes to transporting their children’s chairs. This is a prayer that has been answered,” said Wheelchairs 4 Kids executive director, Madeline Robinson. “Harmar has gone far and above anything we could have hoped for.”

Headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, Harmar is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of a broad range of mobility and accessibility solutions including automotive lifts, stair lifts, platform lifts, pool lifts and more.
