BOISE, Idaho (August 25, 2016)—Bestbath, a manufacturer of universal design showers and tubs, announced the use of a new barrier coat on its products providing a durable and longer lasting shower with better surface quality.

When sprayed on the products, the coating lays flat to provide a smoother surface improving the fit and finish of the final product.

“With the use of the new barrier coat on Bestbath products, we are able to provide our customers with the best shower possible. We are excited that this new barrier coat is specifically formulated to be used in a bathing environment,” said Nate Spencer, director of engineering at Bestbath.

Bestbath worked closely with the barrier coat manufacturer to develop the formulation of the coating to meet specific needs of the bathing environment. Recognizable by its distinctive blue color, the new formula features a change in the chemical structure, which provides an extra layer of protection and creates a barrier for the overall structure of the shower. Additionally, the use of the new coating results in lower emissions when applied.

The barrier coat, typically found in the use of hot tubs and spas, is unique to the shower and bathtub industry. Bestbath currently is the only international manufacturer to use a barrier coat on products in the bath and shower category. The use of the new barrier coat creates a product that is built to last, with a 30-year limited warranty.
