PENNSYLVANIA and DELAWARE—PAMS, the trade association representing durable medical equipment, prosthetic, orthotic and supplies (DMEPOS) suppliers in Pennsylvania and Delaware, announces two upcoming events: “Compliance in the Competition Gap,” Jan. 16, and the PAMS 2019 Billing Seminar, scheduled for Feb. 20.

Explains PAMS, this is “the first time in almost a decade that no area of the country will be under competition…any provider can offer any service to any Medicare beneficiary, regardless of geographical location.

"For suppliers expecting to expand services into former competitive bid areas or expand their use of non-assigned claims to counter frustrating reimbursement rates,” the January event, the “Compliance in the Competition Gap” webinar will cover: CMS rules that govern rentals initiated before the gap; subcontractor limitations and considerations; practical considerations for reentering former bid areas by product type; and more; and will feature Andrea Stark of MiraVista and Mindy Eberhart of PAMS.

In February, PAMS will host a reimbursement seminar at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in York, Pennsylvania. This event will feature Ronda Buhrmester, CRT, CFm, of the VGM Group, and will cover common scenarios where competing forces must ensure they are all acting in the best interests of the company.

PAMS’ Feb. 20 seminar will also feature an update and panel discussion from Pennsylvania Community HealthChoices, and a Medicare update and deep dive into targeted probe and educate (TPE) audits from Trina St. Ours of Noridian Healthcare Solutions, LLC.
